Important update about COVID-19
We are closed until further notice
Important message from the Station
Tuesday 24th March 2020 - COVID-19 Update
As a valued supporter of the Historic Whaling Station we want to let you know an important update regarding our site. Due to recent Federal Government restrictions on cultural institutions in relation to COVID-19; Discovery Bay Tourism Precinct would like to advise that we are temporarily closed to public entry until further notice. This closure includes the Historic Whaling Station, Australian Wildlife Park, Regional Wildflower Garden, and Whaler’s Galley Café.
Over the past 40 years since first opening as a museum in 1980, this will be the first time our site has closed for an extended period. The health and wellbeing of everyone who visits our site is our first priority and we will continue to monitor the ever-changing situation and take advice from health authorities as to when we will be able to re-open.
Thank you for your understanding and patience as we work through these unprecedented times. We want to thank our wonderful staff, volunteers, members, visitors and partners for your continued support through these difficult times ahead.
Should you wish to get in contact with us or Whalers Galley Cafe, please do so using our contact details below:

We will be updating our Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as our website during this time, so you can keep up-to-date via those channels as well.
Please stay well and look after each other. We hope to bring stories of Albany’s unique history back to life for all of you in person in the not-too-distant future.
